Cambodian Documentary films

In 2004 Dara Duong has produced 3 documentary films related to the Cambodian Genocide and Cambodian arts and culture. You can purchase these DVDs at  www.AngkorArts.org . Before these 3 films Dara and Banteay Srei production ( base in Seattle) has produced the first Khmer documentary DVD called "Welcome to Cambodia" that you may purchase from AngkorArts as well.

In 2004 Dara has interviewed 2 top Khmer rouge leaders, Khieu Samphan and Nuon Chea at their resident in Pailin. These interviews are part of his documentary titled "Searching for the Truth". It is under reviewing and editing stag.

This documentary DVD is produced by Dara Duong, the founder of Cambodian Cultural Museum and Killing Fields Memorial in Seattle, Washington. It's is about an Instruction "how" to wear Khmer traditional clothes. In this part one DVD you will learn how to wear 15 Sampot such as Sampot Apsara, Neang Keo Monorea, Kbin Boros, Kbin Satrei, Preah Thong, Neang Neak, Loy Chhay Boros, Loy Chhay Phnot Mok, Loy Chhay Phnot Cham Heang, Loy Chhay Krabouch, Loy Chhay Kan Tuy Ka-ngork, Kantuy Ka-ngork Plet Muoy, Kan Tuy Ka-ngork Plet Pi, Sampot Neang, Neang Kach Phnot Mok Kach Plet.

These traditional costumes were created by Khmer people before and after Angkor era. Today, these traditional costumes being used in Cambodia during the wedding ceremony, traditional performing arts such as Apsara dance and Royal dance...etc. This is the first Khmer Traditional Costume documentary produced with collaboration from the Department of Fine Arts of Cambodia with instructor from Royal University of Fine Arts of Cambodia. VISIONS FROM CAMBODIA

When twin Thai-American filmmakers join an eight-day volunteer trip in Cambodia, they take their cameras with them. This inspirational film touches upon the lasting effects of genocide while highlighting a Canadian woman's vision that is changing the economical landscape for thousands of families. “It’s often hard to imagine how one person can make any difference. We were inspired by the people we've met and wanted to use our experience to bring awareness to social issues in Cambodia and understanding to what many Cambodians went through. We also want to inspire people to get involved in making a difference in the
world.”

KHMER NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

This is a documentary DVD produced in 2004 by Dara Duong, the founder of the Cambodian Cultural Museum and Killing Fields Memorial in Seattle, WA. It was produced during the Khmer Happy New Year. The purpose of this documentary film is to show "how" and "why" Khmer people celebrate their traditional new year, started from day 1 to day 3, including religious ceremonies, traditional and social  celebration and dances. The film was shot in Phnom Penh city, such as Wat Phnom, Riverside,  Royal palace, Wat Unalom, Wat Lanka...etc, and in Siem Reap such as Angkor Wat, Bayon, Taprom and many more places around Angkor compound. Plus extra bonus story about the New Year by a monk in Siem Reap province.
