Searching for the truth
A Cambodian Refugee visits Khmer Rouge leaders
Dara Duong, is a Cambodian immigrant who survived the genocide in Cambodia. Five family members including his own father were killed. Dara returned to Cambodia in 2005, to find the truth about what really happened .
He wanted to find out why they killed his father, and so many others. Dara went to search for the remaining Khmer Rouge leaders who had led the genocide. He found them in the town of Pailin the Khmer Rouge’s strong hold.
Dara located Khiev Samphan and Nuon Chea and interviewed them on film. This is one of the only recent interviews with these Khmer Rouge leaders.
Dara returned again in 2006 to find out more. He met and interviewed other survivors in Seattle and Cambodia. The questions he needed answers to are; why did the Khmer Rouge kill millions of people? Who was responsible for it? When will justice prevail ?
From these recent interviews, Mr. Duong has made a documentary film.
It is an educational resource about the Cambodian genocide and will be used in the upcoming tribunal for justice
It is available on DVD. Click here for more information .
